Front porch restoration! Project started with stripping all lead paint from wood, filling wood cracks and various holes from a multitude of screws and nails with structural wood epoxy. All wood primed with exterior primer, and coated with 2 coats of exterior latex paint.
After the wood was bare, the original light housing outline became visible from an indentation in the wood. We carefully measured the indentation and original screw holes from the original fixture, drew up a design to match the architecture of the house and worked with a local light fixture shop to fabricate a custom mounting bracket and period style light fixture out of copper.
It's surprising the transformation of just simply restoring and providing a little TLC to give this 100 year old bungalow another 100 years of life.
If there is a project similar to this or something that needs a little extra care, please reach out to us and we'd love to take a look.
